Year-old Drafthouse Films has pacted with Image Entertainment within an exclusive distribution deal for home video, digital, television and VOD. Deal marks an additional growth of Texas-based Alamo Drafthouse's plan to become lifestyle brand. The Alamo Drafhouse chain of theaters -- which depend on person to person and serving alcohol inside a laidback setting -- has 10 locations and it is searching to grow into La and NY soon. Drafthouse Films has acquired United States privileges to Michael Roskam's crime drama "Bullhead," Belgium's official candidate for that Oscar language film, and Mikkel Nogaard's Danish comedy "Clown." Drafthouse acquired United States privileges to "Comin at Ya! three dimensional" in September following a premiere from the restored film at Fantastic Fest. Drafthouse Films has hired James Emanuel Shapiro, former professional director of sales planning and purchases for Anchor Bay, because the company's new chief operating officer.
